Breathing

Practicing bone-abdominal breathing that enables breathe-in in logical places, controlled and of a wide capacity.
Avoiding unpleasant sounded breathing that interferes with the conveyance of key messages.
Breathing as a vehicle for fighting nervousness.

Articulation

Gymnastics of the vocal apparatus – exercises.
Proper enunciation of all phonemes; eloquence.
Precises articulation of even the most complicated sentence structures.

Accents

Pronunciations of words according to the standardized Serbian language.
Eliminating local dialect.

Speech logic

Sensible speaking.
Breaking down a speech unit to separate thought sections.
Pointing out important words, sense conveyors – logical accents.

Dynamics

Adjusting speech speed to the content being presented.
Modulating.
Varying the intonation – the specifics of communication in which only voice is used (phone, radio, etc.).

Speech rhythm

Practicing constant switch of various speech variances.
Avoiding monotonousness.
Pause as a very powerful rhetorical vehicle.

Figures of diction

Gradation, contrast and other figures of diction that serve a believable and convincing presentation.

Elements of non-verbal communication

Body language aligned with what’s being spoken.
Posture, gesticulating, facial expression.

Word use – verbal communication

Avoiding clutch words, borrow terms, abbreviations.
Analysing which words a trainee uses the most (negations, indefinite words, birocratic terms, etc.).
Proper speaking – grammatical mistakes.

Goal: Getting familiarized with the vocal and speech capabilities. Controlled, clear, concise, sensible, eloquent, impressive, varied, evocative, charismatic speaking.

How the working process looks like

4. We analyze your current abilities

5. We hold the course and practical exercises according to this schedule:

– two group workshops on verbal and non-verbal communication techniques,

– four individual lessons for each participant (personalized)

The final group workshop – “Speak up to see who you are”, because everything you learn should be applied.

Course duration: two months

Defining the so-called “speaking identity card”. A transcript of the spoken discourse is made for each participant, recording speech characteristics: the most frequent words, the number of words per minute, the dynamics of different emphasis, the rhythm of thought units, etc.

Advanced level

After finishing the program for public speaking education, every trainee can move onto the advanced level. The advanced training is exclusively 1 on 1. The focus is on improving vocal interpretation based on specific needs – news anchorsje na unapređivanju govorne interpretacije u skladu sa specifičnim potrebama – spikeri, podcast hosts, narrators, lecturers, voice and speech in sales, etc.

My initial days in Main Point Institute were a sad sight. Great motivation and a desire to do the job I love, but an ever greater block. I was running away from the camera during the training itself, and the thought of entering a TV studio was mission impossible. Little by little, and I made it, but only thanks to immense persistence and support of Slobodan Roksandic. I thank him for believing in me. Nervousness is still there, but more as an internal sensation. It’s really possible to desensibilitate yourself. Today I manage to be on top form even during live-broadcast programs.
